Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about custom tin box safety, ordering, artwork, sampling, production and logistics.
Product Safety & Capabilities
Product Safety & Capabilities
Are your custom tin boxes certified safe for direct food contact?
Generally, yes. Our metal packaging solutions are primarily manufactured using premium food-grade tinplate. Depending on your product requirements, we apply specialized clear or gold lacquers on the internal surfaces to minimize potential interaction between the metal and your goods. We can arrange or coordinate international testing such as FDA, LFGB, or SGS to match your local import regulations upon request. Our standard custom containers are formulated to be 100% BPA-free and are fully compliant with global food contact safety standards.
Can your tin containers be used for liquid or fluid products?
No. Our tinplate containers and drawn aluminum jars are precision-engineered and structurally intended exclusively for dry, solid, semi-solid, or wrapped goods packaging, such as cookies, mints, cosmetics, candles, and tobacco pre-rolls. Due to their mechanical seams, they are strictly not recommended for direct liquid filling or highly fluid products, as we cannot guarantee zero seepage over time.
Can you manufacture custom tins with unique, irregular shapes?
Yes. We possess an extensive geometric mold library covering standard profiles such as rounds, rectangles, squares, and various multi-sided options. If your project requires a highly proprietary irregular shape, our engineering department can evaluate and develop custom tooling based on your exact vector technical drawings or physical prototypes, subject to technical feasibility.
Ordering, Pricing & MOQs
Ordering, Pricing & MOQs
What is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?
For projects using our existing molds, the standard MOQ is typically 3,000 to 5,000 pieces per design. If your project requires custom tooling or opening new molds, the MOQ generally ranges from 5,000 to 10,000 pieces. However, these limits may vary depending on the product; larger-sized metal items may occasionally qualify for lower minimums, while miniature tins may require a higher initial batch run to optimize machine alignment.
Do you have a standard price list for your tin boxes?
No, we do not maintain a static price list. Because the majority of our orders are customized to individual client specifications, the final unit cost is dynamically determined by multiple technical variables, including exact dimensions, metal thickness, printing methods, varnish selection, embossing details, order volume, and fluctuating raw material costs. Please submit your specifications for a tailored, accurate quote.
Do you offer volume discounts for bulk buyers or repeat orders?
Yes, volume-based pricing applies to most production runs. As a professional metal packaging solution provider, larger order volumes help distribute fixed operational setup costs, specialized printing plates, and mechanical adjustments across more units. Therefore, we are typically able to offer scalable price concessions for larger bulk shipments or long-term contract partners.
Artwork, Sampling & Design
Artwork, Sampling & Design
How do we proceed with the artwork design and alignment?
Once a commercial order alignment is established, our engineering department will provide an exact vector die-line layout. Your design team can utilize this template to position your graphics, bleed lines, and branding copy. Our graphics team will then review your editable vector files, ideally in PDF or AI format with fonts outlined, to help verify layout compatibility before any production plates are scheduled.
Can I request a physical sample before committing to a mass production order?
Yes. For initial structural evaluations, we can frequently provide existing plain stock samples from our library free of charge, provided the buyer covers the shipping costs. For custom artwork verification, we can arrange a bespoke pre-production sample showing your exact graphics and embossing, which requires a custom sampling fee. This fee is generally refundable or creditable upon mass production order approval.
Lead Times, Shipping & Logistics
Lead Times, Shipping & Logistics
What is the typical lead time for custom tin production?
Under normal operating conditions, pre-production sampling generally takes approximately 10 to 15 days following final artwork confirmation. Once the physical sample is formally approved and the deposit is finalized, mass production typically requires an estimated 25 to 35 days. These timelines are estimates and can fluctuate based on seasonal mold scheduling and order complexity.
How do you handle shipping protection, and what is your policy for transit damage?
We take extensive precautions to protect empty metal components during transit. Shipments are normally secured using export-quality corrugated master cartons, often supplemented with internal grid dividers or protective bags based on item fragility. In the event that transit-related damages are discovered upon arrival, please notify us with photographic evidence within 7 business days of delivery so we can investigate and arrange for equitable replacements or credits for verified factory-side defects.
